Lochearn's commitment to delivering a safe, loving and quality camp experience is extended to our mini campers and families. The same quality programming and educational philosophy that characterizes Lochearn's traditional two, four or eight week resident programs is available to girls ages 7 to 13 on a short term basis.

Mini Camp is an experience your daughter will benefit from for years to come. By living in a community where cooperation, mutual respect and kindness are the expected norms, children practice and grow to appreciate the basic concepts needed to foster harmony in cabin and community life and learn the skills necessary to successfully adjust to an away-from-home situation.

We find that children who join us for one week adjust more easily the following year to our two or four week program. They are familiar with the grounds and facilities; they have established relationships with many of the staff; they already know some of the children, and they personally understand the give and take needed to enjoy positive relations and live successfully with others on a day to day basis.

For parents, attendance at Mini Camp allows you to benefit from a priority status for our 2012 summer enrollment. Lochearn's two, four and eight week programs are typically fully enrolled early in the year. Receiving the Lochearn family early enrollment priority status allows you to plan for the next summer with greater certainty.

Our Mini Camp staff members are a wonderful group of people who, by virtue of their prior involvement at Lochearn, understand and respect Lochearn's pledge to build on each girl's individual talents and strengths. Each staff member has demonstrated the capacity to work with children to develop positive character qualities, particularly with reference to the development of respect, responsibility, integrity and good manners.

What can my daughter expect during Mini Camp?
All the fun, friendships and adventure any girl could want.
Her daily schedule may include sailing, riding, diving or snorkeling.
Imagine her on one of our game fields with a lacrosse stick in her hands or on the tennis court practicing her volleys. Does she have an artistic bent? She can dance, learn quilting or ceramics or express her creative energy in any one of our studio or performing arts programs.

Mini Camp is a terrific first introduction to sleep-a-way camp life.
It's a great solution to the end of summer doldrums. It's a chance to foster self-esteem and positivity in the days immediately before school. But, most of all, it's a week filled with fun, friendships and adventure!

Girls ages 7 through 13 arrive Sunday, August 21 between 12:00 and 2 PM. The fun lasts until Saturday, August 27 at 2:00 PM.
